How does account verification work?

When you sign in to your TurboTax account, a number of different security measures are activated to safeguard your information. You may be asked to verify your account if you’re using a new computer or device, or if you haven’t signed in to your account in several weeks. You may be asked specific, personalized questions that only you should have the answers to. These questions help to ensure the security of your account, as well as limit access to any unauthorized users. You may also validate your identity by requesting a confirmation code.

Account verification is just one of the ways we use to safeguard your information, so you can file your taxes confidently. The information you provide is used only to verify your identity, and TurboTax does not share, sell, or use this info for any other purpose without your consent.
