Am I still common law with my boyfriend of 5 years if he moved to another province but I live with him part time and we lived together for over 2 years before

I live with him part time and part time at my parents in Ontario we lived together for over 2 years in the same house

Living common-law means that you are living in a conjugal relationship with a person who is not your married spouse and at least one of the following conditions applies:

  • This person has been living with you in a conjugal relationship for at least 12 continuous months. For more information, refer to CRA Marital status.
