amending

It depends on what type of information you "amended" on your tax return, and how you did the amendment.

Did you do an online adjustment/amendment using your online CRA My Account?

Did you do a ReFile to "add" something to your return?

In either case, CRA may just complete the amendment and not require you submit any further documentation to support your claim. Or, if it was an amendment for a slip or something else they have on the system, they will see it is a double entry and notify you that an adjustment was not necessary.

If CRA is not requesting any additional information, your amendment might very well go through. If they are requesting additional information to support the claim, and you do not submit it, your claim will be denied.

You should contact CRA directly and discuss this with them. The General Enquiries number is 1-800-959-8281
