Do I have to pay original NOA while reassessment in progress

I received a NOA, then realized I had made an error that will result in me owing less money.

I submitted a Refile through Turbotax and it is presently showing as "Reassessment in progress" on the CRA site.  Do I have to pay the original NOA amount while reassessment is in progress?  I am expecting the reassessment to be much lower, due to the correction I made.

Thanks

Hi, thank you for using Intuit TurboTax Community

Usually it is advised to pay any CRA balance owing since interest will accrue. If the reassessment shows a lower balance owing, CRA will refund the overpayment. This also is the safe option if CRA does not reassess the return as you expect.  Some filers may wait until the reassessment is received but then risk interest charges from CRA.

Hope this helps
