Hi, during the 2016 year I got married and moved to the USA. How would I go about filing my taxes for that?

I was working in Canada from January to March then moved to the USA. My wife works in the USA and we filed jointly (I had no income in the USA during 2016).

Hi

You will need to contact the Canadian International Tax Office in Ottawa, to determine residency status for filing based on your personal situation. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/cntct/prv/tstc/twts-eng.html#ntrntnl

Once residency is determined, if non-resident for tax purposes, you would need to file a paper return to that office, including all worldwide income earned while a resident and all Canadian based income after leaving Canada.
