I am married want to claim my 17 year old (in 2018) as dependant. He earned $ 8,100.00 part time in 2018 in the reserve army. Can I and what is the deduction amount

Your son must file his own return, regardless of age, to report that income. He would also claim credits, as appropriate. For example , Tuition .

You can (must) still report your son as a dependant, either on your return or your spouses.
