I was living common law for only January of 2017. Do I have to submit financial information from my ex spouse in my 2017 return? ie income for 2017 etc?

If you were only common law for the month of January in 2017, you would report your marital status as separated.  However, you would need to enter your best estimate of his/her income for that one month.
