If the program does not let me enter a dependant (son is a 22year-old student living at home), how can I do it?

You should be able to enter your dependant in TurboTax Online.  Please see the following FAQ on entering dependants in online editions of TurboTax.  Note that "Setting Up" is now called "My Info".
