Married in September. My spouse lives / works in USA, and I'm not claiming her. She has no SIN. Do I still need to add her net income from America? Or do I just put 0.

Hi there, I left Canada in September 2018, got married in America to an American who only ever visited Canada for a couple of weeks. My spouse lives / works in USA, and I'm not claiming her. She has no SIN. Do I still need to add her net income from America? Or do I just put 0 as she earned nothing in Canada, has no SIN, and I'm not claiming spousal amount at all.

Report your status as Married and the date the change to your marital status took place.

Enter spouse'  SIN # as 000-000-000, non-resident not living in Canada.

In the section that says - "Tell us more about "your spouse's name""

Enter spouse's income as ZERO & Check NO to say you will not be claiming Spousal Credit for her.
