My child has type 1 diabetes diagnosed in 2013 and submitted 2201 for that tax year - do i have to re-submit the t2201 each year?

No, once it is submitted and accepted by CRA, it remains in force until you receive a letter requesting another newer form filled out, or a change in the decision to allow the credit.
