My divorce became official on Oct 28 2017 but my children (and my ex) lived with me until the end of Dec/2017. Can I still claim the kids as dependents for 2017 taxes ?

Indicate your year end marital status as Divorced and provide the effective date of change. You can claim a spouse based on their income for the period which you supported them prior to your divorce. You can also claim applicable deductions and credits for children during a period they resided with you provided no one else is making a duplicate claim.
