My son is 18, he needs to file his own tax separately, how do i remove him from my dependant on Tubor tax? Anyone have an idea?

How to remove a dependant on tubor tax

To remove dependants from TurboTax Online 2022: Click “Find” in the upper right corner and search for “dep”, then select “Dependants” from the list and click on the “Go” button. Then click “Remove” next to the dependant you no longer need.

To remove dependants from TurboTax Online 2023/2024:

1. On the left side menu, select Tax Home.
2. Select Personal Info, and then click “Edit”.
3. Click on “Edit” to the right of your dependant’s name.
4. Click “Continue” on the next page.
5. Click the circle icon (⊝) to the right of your dependant’s name to remove them.

To remove dependants from TurboTax Cd/Download using the EasyStep mode: Click “Find” in the upper right corner and search for “dep”, then select “Dependants” from the list and click on the “Go” button. Then click “Delete” next to the dependant you no longer need.

To remove dependants in TurboTax Cd/Download using the Forms mode: Click “Forms” and search for “dep”, then select “Dependants Information Dialog” from the list and click on the “OK” button. Then click “Clear” under the column of the dependant you no longer need.

Please note that you will still need to have your son entered as a dependant if he wants to transfer tuition to you (or your spouse, if you are preparing together).
