Even if you do not want to claim tuition fees or do not need to claim tuition fees for the current tax year, you should fill out the T2202A form so that the amounts can carry forward to a year when you will need to use them.  Otherwise, you will need to file an adjustment request for the tax year that the tuition fees were paid in before they can be applied to a future tax year.

You do not need to send in a copy of your T2202A tuition receipt with your tax return but you should have a copy of it in case the Canada Revenue Agency requests to see it.
