Before you begin, register for My Account.

If you’d like to use CRA’s Auto-fill my return service to automatically fill out part of your tax return, you need to be registered for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)’s My Account

 

Please follow the steps below to know how to use the CRA's Auto-fill my return services:

  1. Select Find in TurboTax.
    Note: If you don’t see the Find button, you may not have completed the Setting up a section of your return. Continue through the Setting up section until the Find button appears.
  2. In the Find window, type Auto-Fill.
  3. From the list of search results, select Auto-Fill My Return, then select Go.
  4. On the Name, get a jump start on your tax return step, select Continue.
  5. On the Let’s import your info step, select Launch CRA site.
  6. Follow the steps to download your slips and other information.

24th April 2022 - I have the same issue. On the Auto-Fill online page I only see links to the help articles or the Continue button. Pressing Continue prompts me to manually enter all the data. I have used this feature for the last few years, but it is not available now.

24th April 2022 - Integration with CRA started working after 7:00am on a Sunday morning. Maybe it was not available earlier due to system maintenance, although no information message was displayed to the user.

2024 Online Turbo tax is not quite finished.  So many bugs.    Like the help refers to a find window not present in this year's version.

 

Here's one.  I skipped the auto-fill when I pre-popped my four 2023 returns a few weeks ago since no firms had completed their t4 t5,etc filings at CRA.  Now that my son's T4 is ready, there is no way to use auto-fill.  The help is useless and the nav wont show me auto-fill, just keeps ending up on T4 entry screen.  No button to 'restart interview.'  I dont mind keying his simple one, but if I have manually do for me, wife and daughter its annoying since the service worked great in previous years.  They have dumbed down TurboTax so much that seasoned users are suffering.

Auto-Fill (AFR) for 2024 is not available from the CRA yet. It will be available on February 10, 2025.

 

In TurboTax Online 2024, the "Find" icon is gone, but you can still search for things using the search bar on the Tax Home page. You can get to Tax Home by clicking on the link in the left side menu.
