Sick mother dependent credit

My 58 year old mother lived with me from Feb 2016 to Aug 2016 when she passed.  Is there a credit that I can claim for this? Also, can I claim the equivalent to spouse, at the same time, for my 12 year old daughter.  I am a single parent.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry for your loss. You will want to look at the caregiver credit, you will need medical documentation to support the claim. The net income of your mother would affect this claim.

You can still claim eligible dependant credit for your daughter, if you were a single parent.
