Spousal return after filing

Hi

I completed my return and filed, but didn't choose "file for both of us", I only chose file my return.  I need to file for my spouse. Do I file a new return for them or wait for my NOA and then Refile?

You can file tax returns for yourself and your spouse separately, but you need to indicate your marital status as common-law on each of your returns. If you did so, you do not need to wait and refile; you can file your spouse's tax return now.

Thanks, but perhaps I wasn't clear enough.  I am married, I filed separate return for myself and chose the "file a return for myself option".  I now need to file one for my spouse.  I think I just need to go back into my account and create a return based on their information under their name and CRA number, etc.  There shouldn't be a need to Refile, as I've indicated married on my return and will do so on theirs.  I was concerned that I didn't select "do a return for both of us" at the start.

Yes, if you did yours only and not a joint return you will need to start a new return to complete a return for your spouse.
