I am filing taxes for my husband and myself. Am I suppose to submit in two seperate applications.

The software allows you to prepare both returns together, which is best as it's easier for the software to allocate certain credits to the best advantage between you, and also to automatically calculate other credits etc.  However it is still preparing two separate tax returns, so once you are done preparing the returns and are ready to file, you will be prompted to file each return.
