Who claims scholarship funds for a dependant?

My daughter is 18 but has never worked. She is a full-time student and has received several scholarships and T4As for them. Does she file this year or do I claim the money on my return?

Your daughter should claim them when she files her tax return.

She will enter it in TurboTax by following these steps:

  1. In the Profile section, on the first What happened for you in 2014 screen, select Yes to the question "were you a student in 2014?"
  2. Select the "I received scholarship, grant, or bursary" (and any other boxes that apply)
  3. Then in the Income section she'll enter the information.
