Why am I being asked for my dependant's income?

In Turbo tax, under "Tell us about your dependants" it asks if my son's income was zero.  It wasn't so I say "no".  Then it asks for Net Income (T1 line 236).  What is this and where do I find it?  I haven't filed a tax return for him because his income is only about $1,000.  Can someone tell me how this is used and what value I'm to put here?

If your son is not filing an income tax return, you would enter the income that he has earned.  This amount will then be subtracted from the eligible dependant credit.
