My husband and I separated and moved apart last March. How do we go about filing taxes for 2018, since we still lived together for January and February? Thanks!

You separated in March which means that on December 31st, 2018 you had been apart for more than 90 days, making your marital status separated.

When you enter your marital status as separated, TurboTax will ask you what date you were separated and will prorate any credits and deductions you qualify for accordingly.

Note: both you and your husband will need to know each other's income amount to complete your returns.
