I claim my 15year old son as an eligible dependent. He just started working in september why does his income affect my refund he only earnt $4000 and I only earn $30,000

Before i put in his income it says i get a refund of about $360 but as soon as i put in his income it says i owe about $300 CAD

Your son's net income affects the eligible dependant credit.  The credit is reduced by the amount of your son's net income.

Your son's net income affects the eligible dependant credit.  The credit is reduced by the amount of your son's net income.
