Can I claim for cataract surgery paid to a private clinic?

CRA only show laser eye surgery and not cataract surgery?

Yes, cataract surgery may qualify as a valid medical expense for tax purposes.

According to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and  TurboTax, eye surgery (such as Lasik or a similar procedure) is tax deductible when it is not for cosmetic purposes only. It is the amount paid to a medical practitioner or a public or licensed private hospital.

Keep in mind the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) might require documents to support your medical expenses claim later. The documents include a receipt, prescription, or certification in writing.
