Do I enter premiums for health benefits as a medical expense?

The premium is for supplemental medical and dental.  I don't see that my accountant claimed it last year.  I am concerned that perhaps i shouldn't be putting all of it in as a deduction.

It depends. If the contributions are reported on a T4 (box 135) or you contribute to a publicly funded health care plans offered by a province or territory, then you can’t deduct them. If it’s a private health services plan, then yes, you can claim your payments as a medical expense.
