Does my non-resident wife with no Canadian income have to file a CA return? I also filed as a non-resident.

I am a U.S. citizen who worked in Canada last year for about 3 months.  My wife and I are both non-residents of Canada.  When I completed my return, TurboTax also completed a non-resident return for my wife.  She had no income in the US or Canada.  Do I have to file her Canadian return.  We file a joint return in the US.

Thanks

You’ll need to double check with the CRA whether or not your spouse needs to file a return. If you are in Canada or the United States, you can call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. If you are somewhere else you can call 613-940-8495. Here are more ways to contact the CRA: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/corporate/contact-information/telephone-numbers.html
