I am not claiming any medical expenses, however my deductions summary lists $2,717 in medical expense deductions. I have no idea where this number is coming from?

Did you transfer your information from last year into this year's return? If so, it may be expenses carried forward from last year.

Another possibility is that you have an amount on you your T4 in Box 85 - Paid Premiums for Private Health Plan. This would count as a medical expense.
