I am preparing a return for my father and mother-in-law. Are the questions that follow that relate to dependents, etc specific to their situation?
The software will ask questions to see what credits they might be able to claim. This question is asked to everyone. Not necessarily that it relates to them. But you are completing the important personal information so that when you get to main topics the specifics will be there for you which will be specific to their situation- as long as you completed the information correctly.
