I have credit in my CRA account. A CRA specialist told me I would be asked if I have any credited amount to carry-forward towards my 2017 tax return. What do I do?

What kind of amount is it? Tuition? Instalment payments? Capital loss? Non capital loss?

It was an overpayment from last year. It was a credit of $268.68.

An over-payment of taxes? EI? CPP?

Over-payment of taxes. I gave the government more money than was owed.

You can put in under Deductions> Payment Profile >Tax Installments.

Is this how any credits in the statement of account can be claimed? I have a credit from tax overpayment that has been carrying forward for a few years now that I would like to finally access.

This is only if you haven’t already reported a personal tax instalment over-payment to the CRA yet. If you have already contacted the CRA about the overpayment, they would let you know what you need to enter on your tax return.
