Is Go Fund Me a gift or counted as income?

Hello:

 

I received donations to help with my cancer treatment through a Go Fund Me page.  Is the money I received counted as income or as a gift in Canada?

It’s likely in your case that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will consider the money you got as a gift. However, it would be a good idea if you contacted them to confirm this.
