To claim the medical expenses on either one of your tax returns, you will have to let the software know at the beginning of your Medical Expense Profile, by choosing yours or your partner's name. Then enter your medical receipts, once they have all been entered, you will come to a "Medical Expense Claim" page that will identify which one should be claiming the expenses to maximize your refund or minimize your balance owing.
Go to your "Deductions" tab - then "Medical Expense Profile" and start from there.
