May I claim the expense of a cane under medical expenses?

The CRA says yes, if you have a mobility impairment and a prescription:

Thank you very much for your response. I thought it would be accepted but wanted to make sure before claiming it.

Always a good idea to check first. Make sure to keep your receipt and any proof of the prescription (if that is not clearly indicated on the receipt).
