My medical expences for 2021 were $14000, but i did not have any taxes to pay. Can I get anything from medical espences?

explanation from the professional was: If i have to pay taxes, they will be reduced due to my medical expences. But if i do not have to pay taxes, medical expensive does not give me anything. Is it correct?

Yes. The medical expense tax credit is a non-refundable tax credit that you can use to reduce the tax that you may have to pay. It can't generate or increase a refund.

But if you can’t use your medical expenses this year, you may be able to use them next year.
