My parents medical receipts show they paid , but I actually paid because it is a joint account. Can I claim the medical receipts?

Yes, you can. If they are medical expenses paid on a dependent's behalf (line 33199), you are eligible to claim medical expenses paid for a parent who lived in Canada at any time in the year and depended on you for support. They need not live with you, but you must be able to prove dependency, as described earlier.
