Claim for dependent

Before you claim the Amount for an Eligible Dependant Credit, please review our TurboTax article:

Who Can I Claim as a Dependant on my Tax Return? and this Canada Revenue Agency link: Can you claim an amount for an eligible dependant (line 30400)?

To answer your question on where to claim the Amount for an Eligible Dependant Credit on line 30400 of your return, you will need:

If you are using TurboTax Online Software, please follow these steps to guide you:

1. Go to the Find button on the right-upper of your TurboTax Online Software screen.

2. Type "Dependant" and click "Go" to start filling Schedule 5.

3. Select the "Yes" option and complete your dependant information then Continue.

4. Select the options which you are eligible to claim.
