Re: CRA Medical tax credit: Can we claim private hospital room for post-natal care? It was not covered by provincial nor private insurance we had.

Can it be considered a hospital cost, or post natal cost, both mentioned as eligible costs on CRA website?

Generally, if it was not done under a doctor's orders or by prescription by a medical professional, you won't be able to claim it for the medical tax credit.

However, when there is doubt, it's always best to check with the CRA directly:
