I am doing my grandmothers taxes and she was in hospice care for the year, about $30 a day. Is this considered rent or a medical expense deduction?

The hospice institution where she was living in should be able to provide a document breaking down, of the total fees paid for the year, the portion of the fees paid that relates to "rent" and the portion of the fees that relates to "medical care" that would otherwise qualify for a medical expense claim.
