What should I do to get it updated and start receiving Child tax benefit?

I have not filed taxes in the pas two years (2016-2017). CRA is asking for my income tax but I do not have an income because I was still in school.

Even if you have no income - you must file an income tax return. If you want to claim :To receive the Goods and Services Tax/Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST) credit, including any related provincial credits;

  • To receive Canada Child Benefit payments, including related provincial and territorial payments;
  • To carry forward/transfer any unused portions of your tuition, education, or textbook amounts;.
  • Here is where you will find our software for the years you need to file (Please note that you can choose to use our Free versions- just be sure not to upgrade or you will need to pay)
