As the Detailed Tax Summary only shows a limited number of Non-Refundable Tax Credits (NRTC) (Personal Tax Credits, CPP & EI Contributions, and Medical Expenses), the "other amounts" includes a number of these credits which are calculated on Schedule 1 of your tax return.

Most commonly included here are:

  • Pension Income Amount (maximum $2,000)
  • Canada Employment Amount ($1,195 or less)
  • Home Buyers Amount
  • Tuition Amounts
  • Disability Amount for Self
  • Disability Amount transferred from a dependant
  • Amounts transferred from your spouse

If you would really like to see what NRTCs are included in this "other amounts" in the summary, you can look at the PDF copy of the tax return you save or print out for your records. If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can switch over to the Forms view in TurboTax and have a look at your Schedule 1 there.
