Why when I select the medical expenses to be applied to my tax return does it keep applying the expenses to my spouse?

I need to apply medical expenses to my tax return so that it is applied before I get a refund of my credit due from my Alternative Minimum Tax balance.

Turbo tax does not allow override even though it is calculated...it is in black

I need to use my partner's income to calculate the medical amount which will be reported on my return because he has no tax payable.
