Donations to a park from a small business... is it a donation or marketing? And if a donation, where to file it?

A park was being built in our town and my wife donated on behalf of her business.  This got her business name put on the park sign.  Should this be a donation or marketing?

You could put it as either. If the business is unincorporated, there is no credit for a donation or specific place to enter it in. It would have to be put in as an expense. Alternatively, your wife (as the owner of the business) can put it as a donation under her own name.

To claim a donation in TurboTax CD/Download (EasyStep Mode):

Select “Find” in the upper-right hand corner.

Search for “don”, select “Charitable Donations” form the list and click the “Go” button.

To claim a donation in TurboTax CD/Download (Forms Mode):

Click “Forms” on the blue menu bar.

Search for “don”, select “Donations - Charitable Donations” form the list and click the “OK” button.
