canadian working in the US

Hi, I am canadian working in the US and married to US citizen. I have only been to Canada for 1 week in the past year and have no significant ties to Canada other than holding passport. I guess I am considered non-resident for tax purposes? Is that correct? Do I need to do anything to report my non-resident status or I guess it will be evident based on my enter and exit at the border?

Another question is, if I say married it asks for my husband's SIN but he is not Canadian and does not have SIN. What do I do? change to Single for tax purpose? tnx
