Capital Gains/Losses Delayed to "Late March"

Two weeks ago I was charged $90 dollars BEFORE getting the pop up that the CRA was not ready to accept returns with capital gains/losses and that it would be delayed until "Late March"

Turbo Tax does not warn of this issue prior to charging you and other software like Wealthsimple are accepting returns with capital loss/gains as of a couple days ago.

Turbo Tax has been replying with different answers ranging from "no resolution date at this time" to "mid-march" to "late march"

When will this actually be resolved for consumers? You can't charge customers and expect them to wait in limbo with no answers.

The CRA has announced systems tax calculator errors that may affect your ability to file. These errors are affecting all CRA certified tax software across Canada.

It is past March 20th and matter still not resolved. Is there a new date or anyway to bypass the T3 capital gains issue.

@plefebvre12 Schedule 3 is updated; there is some reported issue with T3 and we are aware of the issue and our team is working on it. We appreciate your patience.

TurboTax Susan advised all forms are unlocked. Turbo Tax had an update today that I installed. I attempted to net-filed my friend's tax return and I was locked out by CRA. CRA did not accept the return. What is my next step? Why can Turbo Tax not fix the problem or accurately say when CRA will accept these 2024  capital gains?

@plefebvre12 Can you please provide more information about your problem? What is the exact error message that you are getting?

Error says your tax return has not been accepted by Canada Revenue Agency.

Your tax return was not accepted by Canada Revenue Agency, etc. and they advised:

Code: #95365 - There is an entry on Form 936 and/or Schedule 3 and one of these situations applies to your return:

1. You reported a capital gain from a T3 slip on line 17600 of schedule 3. An entry is also required on line 68140 in Chart A of form T936. Line 68140 can not be less than line 17600.

2. There is an entry on line 68140. You also have to report a capital gain on line17600. If the total of your capital gains from all your T3 slips is zero, your software should generate an entry of "1" on line 17600.

3. There is an entry on line 68140. You must have an entry on line 68150. if line 68140 minus line 12 in chart A is zero, your software should generate an entry of "1" on line 68150.

4. There is an entry on line 68150. An entry is also required on line 68140. line 68140 can not be less than 68150.

The return was revised so these conditions were met and then I net-filed and after a few attempts, CRA locked me out. How do I netfile these returns?

You must get in touch with the CRA directly to have your account unlocked if they have locked it after five failed attempts. CRA account help - - Locked account

I have been doing some research on the topic(s) related to tax returns not being able to be netfiled for the 2024 tax year.  I ended up mailing my return to CRA for the first time because of Turbotax.

I have concluded that Intuit/Turbotax has some major issues they cannot seem to resolve in a timely fashion.  I have seen online that most other tax software companies are not having these issues.

I have been using Turbotax since I started filing taxes (over 20 years) without any issues except for this year.  Having said that, I am going to do some serious software shopping for the 2025 tax year.
