Claiming meal allowance is done in canadian funds as well as u.s.a funds why cannot this be done on your e-file??

the government changed this some years back, as well as the percentage allowed to claim on a simplified claim for meals etc. why is  your e-file so out of date, and how can you claim to be anywhere near accurate??

If you look at the actual form from CRA for the TL2 for transportation employees, which I am assuming you are, there are only spaces for Canadian funds.  This means that they expect the Foreign meals listed separately and calculated to CAD prior to entry.

Any other claims for travel allowances will also have to be calculated separately.  You will need a signed T2200 from an employer authorizing the expense if employed.
