Error - at the time of manufacturing this product the government had not finalsized all of its form.

This is Turbo tax 2024 Canada Home and Business.

I cant print or file my completed return, due to the error

at the time of manufacturing this product the government had not finalized all of its form….

it will not allow me to print or file anything.

this is the first time I have used a NON CD version and downloaded it using the web site and the key in the box.

I have also restarted the computer and program several times and tried updating the software, but it says its already up to date.

You cannot Print or File at this time as the forms are not finalized yet by CRA. Netfile will re-open and ready to accept TY24 and prior years on February 24, 2025.

Thanks for choosing TurboTax.

I am having the same issue.  It is March 9th, 2025.  I have my copy up to date according to the help menu.

Please advice how to correct or if there will be a fix coming soon.  I have not had this issue in the past, not happy with my experience with the help forum or how this website is organinzed.

@Lpick These forms are still locked by CRA & RQ and not finalized by yet. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax.

We appreciate your patience.

What is interesting is that while I cannot print, I was able to file my taxes and received the verification it was completed - so it's odd that forms aren't finalized when I can file with Rev. Canada.

Hello, problem still persists. Already mid March and no resolution. Any idea when issue will be resolved? Has Turbotax contacted CRA and RQ? What did they say?

Also, I was told that Ufile and other programs work using same data that was input into Turbotax.

Thank you

Alex

I see as of today, March 14, CRA listing of certified tax software has Turbotax and other companies listed as certified for capital gains.  Previously CRA said certification in process.  It appears CRA has now given the go ahead.  Is there an  update when Turbotax will be updated and ready to file taxes with capital gains forms now that CRA has certified it?    I have used Turbotax desktop for many years and am all ready to file whenever Turbotax has updated and unlocked the forms. Thank you.

I am getting the same message last weekend and now this weekend when trying to submit, what is the hold up?  If anyone from Turbotax could give an update that would be great.  We all paid good money for your product, if you can provide an ETA so we can all stop wasting our time checking every week that would be great.

This is terrible. I have been using this software for 8 plus years but this the last year. Its impacting my livelihood because its delaying my large refund. I also cant submit my family members taxes so also causing issues with family members and their financial state.

What bothers me the most is that there is no reply from the company on these posts. Nothing. Well this is noted - so time to take it to social media.

Shame on turbo tax for not addressing this or at least replying with some ETA.

Tried to file again today, have 6 returns waiting to be filed.   Error at top of screen says  can’t be filed due to technical error try again after March 17th.

I have been using turbo tax for 10 years to do our taxes and file.  May need a different solution next year.   Very disappointed with having to pay such a high cost when a CD wasnt provided this year and the program had to be downloaded and then not able to to even save my returns due to errors in the software and not able to file still.

Definitely thinking of moving to another platform next year. I am expecting a large refund this year but have to wait.

I filed 2 other returns with no issues using TurboTax. They were less complicated than mine. My return has capital gains which I believe is causing the issue.

TurboTax, please respond with latest updates. What is the ETA?

it is crazy that CRA is asking us submit file before Apr. 30 but TAX software is blocking......

AND, THERE IS NO ETA..... 😮

Hello TurboTax community.

I had the impression that Ufile program was immune from this issue but they are not.

I went to a Ufile blog and discovered that they also have the same problem. Below is a response from Ufile:

Hello,

The CRA system and UFile will be updated  as soon as possible.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

CRA New release: March 11, 2025

Reminder if you have a capital gain: You need to wait to file your T1 and T3 returns

The CRA is working diligently to update its systems to reflect the currently enacted capital gains inclusion rate of one-half. The CRA recommends that those impacted by this situation wait until the updates are completed in the coming weeks before filing their income tax and benefit return. The CRA will grant relief in respect of late-filing penalties and interest until June 2, 2025, for individual filers and until May 1, 2025, for Trust filers to provide additional time for taxpayers reporting capital gains to meet their tax filing obligations.

The forms are NOT locked and are finalized - other tax software packages can file now.  Please let me know when I can file.

As per CRA website, Turbotax desktop is certified for capital dispositions 2024.  Please advise when the software will be updated?
