My Wife and I are both US Citizens and Canadian Citizens. We are resident in Canada and have been for several years. Question 1: Do we need to purchase Both a US turbotax and a Canada turbotax? If so will they talk to each other.
Question 2: can we get a tax expert to do both filings for us as well as our FBAR reporting
Yes, you would have to buy both the Canadian version of TurboTax and the USA version. They are separate programs, though if you create an account on the Canadian side, you can use the same credentials to login to the US one.
The same thing goes for our tax experts. If you would like your returns prepared for you, you would have to purchase a Full Service package for your Canadian returns, and another for your US returns.
