I moved to Ontario in Nov, I had to wait until 2016 to get an Ontario Health Card and I had to continue paying BC health care during the 3 month wait period.

Why do I have to pay for Ontario health coverage on my tax return?

The Ontario Health Premium is calculated on the Ontario provincial tax form, and is based on your taxable income.  Unfortunately, there is no other factor affecting this premium other than being an Ontario resident as of December 31, 2015 and your taxable income.
