Long Last name

My last name is longer than 20 characters. The software seems to be allowing only 20 characters max. This is not my first time filing and CRA has the whole last name on their file. How do i get my whole last name on the tax return?

Type as much of your name that you can fit and you will be fine. The CRA matches the first characters of your last name to your Social Insurance Number and will generate any correspondence or cheques with your complete name.

 

The software allows for no more than 20 characters. If this is your first time filing please call the Canada Revenue Agency and make sure of the correct name on file first. Here is their number - 1 800 959 8281.
