NETFILE Access code

I tried to file as a first time filer and I got a message that CRA has previously received a tax return.

I previously filed in 1991 and the expert I spoke with said that was too far back and to say I was a first time filer.

I changed to"filed previously" and it says I must say I am an immigrant. I am not, I am a resident.

How do I fix this? I have no NETFILE Access code for 1991.

The Netfile Access Code is not necessary to Netfile. It can be left empty. You may wish to start the return from the beginning to answer that it is not your first time filing as the information should still be in your file. Before starting over please clear your cache/cookies, sign out of your account and restart your computer.

I did that and CRA blocked my file. Now I cannot file. :(

If Netfiling was tried too many times, the account will be locked for security purposes. Please contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to see what can be done by calling 1-800-959-8281.
