Northern deduction

I live in Flin Flon Manitoba and I am entitled to the northern deduction.

The northern deduction has two components - the basic amount and an additional residency amount

I have a question. I live with my roommate and can both of us claim additional residency amount or only one can claim additional residency amount.

if I claim both the basic amount and additional residency amount can I check how much amount will I get for both the basic amount and residency amount?

If more than one taxpayer lived in the same dwelling at the same time during the year, either each taxpayer can claim the basic residency amount deduction, or one taxpayer can claim both the basic residency amount deduction and the additional residency deduction.

After you fill out the form you can see the amount for both the basic amount and residency amount under the Deductions Summary.
