Not being able to complete any return, even simple ones with no capital gains or the Quebec provincial ones and fed up with the extremely slow application response/freezing I started again with Ufile. It cost much less, works fine and has simpler input screens with less redundancy. The simple returns hve been filed, the Quebec ones are ready to go and the only delay will be for the famous CRA approval of capital gains templates.
I finally found a number, called and after a fairly slow process received a confirmation that I will have a full refund credited to my card (within 3 weeks!). You do have to demand the refund, not have filed any returns and erase the return files on your computer but that’s fair.
I did find discrepancies between the numbers generated by Turbo Tax and Ufile and after investigation confirmed that Turbo Tax is wrong in one case and missing an input screens in another,
