Deceased Income Tax - Refund

Hi,

If a deceased has a refund, what happens to it?

Will the CRA send a cheque for the refund?

Thank you

Deceased Income Tax - Refund

Yes, CRA will send a cheque for any refunds owed to the deceased.

The CRA cannot accept direct deposit applications for individuals who died in the year, or the preceding year. All refunds and documents will be sent to the Executor or appointed administrator of the deceased.
